On May 19, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings.

At the beginning of the sitting the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan has informed that May 19 is the Pontian Greek Genocide Remembrance Day and proposed in one-minute silence to honour the memory of the genocide innocent victims.

The deputies welcomed the students and pedagogues of Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University who had visited the parliament within the framework of NA Open Doors programme and were observing the work of the sitting.

Afterwards the debate of the report on the implementation of the monetary-credit policy for 2015 of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia continued. The Chairman of the RA Central Bank (CB) Artur Javadyan answered the deputies’ questions, which related to the budget deficit, inflation, the volume and the supply of the foreign debt, the efficiency of the credit delivery and the use and the development of economy, etc.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Safaryan briefly presented the report of the RA Government conclusion.

The Chairman of the RA NA Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan presented the view of the Head Committee.

The NA deputies Mikayel Melkumyan, Levon Dokholyan, Artashes Geghamyan, Aram Manukyan, Mher Shahgeldyan, Hovhannes Margaryan and Tevan Poghosyan delivered speeches on the report.

The representatives of the NA Factions (Head of the ANC Levon Zurabyan, Head of the RPA Vahram Baghdasaryan) presented their views on the document.

During the sitting the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov informed that the Factions of the National Assembly of Nagorno Karabakh Republic adopted a statement on Condemnation of the Genocide against Greeks in Ottoman Empire.

Afterwards the monetary-credit policy programme for 2016 of the Central bank of the Republic of Armenia was debated.

The CB Chairman Artur Javadyan presented the directions of the monetary-credit policy aimed at the provision of the inflation and the economic growth and provision of the price stability.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Safaryan presented the conclusion of the government.

Gagik Minasyan noted that monetary-credit policy will promote the certain activation of the economic growth preserving the main targeted index.

In his final speech Artur Javadyan presented his observations on the NA deputies’ recommendations and concerns related to the CB activities.

The Head of the State Property Management Department adjunct to the RA Government Arman Sahakyan presented the draft law on Approval of the Annual Report of 2014 for the Implementation of the State Property Privatization Programme for 2006-2007.

The Deputy Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Mikayel Melkumyan presented the view of the Committee.

The debate of the issue will continue during the next sittings of the parliament.
